Information Technology

Westminster believes that Information Technology (IT) is a powerful tool to assist pupils in their learning. The IT Department, situated in Ashburnham House, is open from 8.00 a.m. to 10 p.m. to provide pupils with the necessary facilities and training.

Facilities

  • Every computer has fast Internet access.
  • All pupils and teachers have a School email address.
  • Pupils are encouraged to connect their own laptops to the School network via Wireless LAN.
  • All boarders have connection points in their studies.

Help and training

Formal computer training is offered at all levels. The School is an accredited test centre for the internationally recognised European Computer Driving Licence and pupils are encouraged to participate in the scheme.

All pupils are offered guidance on making effective use of the internet to assist their academic studies. Pupils are encouraged to use IT to help them write essays and produce well-presented work.

Westminster recognises that IT is a rapidly developing area, and is continuously reviewing its IT provision to remain at the cutting edge.
