Entry at 13+

Of the 700 pupils studying at Westminster School each academic year, around 350 are 13-16 year old boys (the Lower School). Boys in the Lower School follow a broad curriculum leading to GCSE qualifications at the end of three years. During their time at Westminster, the boys can participate in a host of sport and other activities.

Registration and entry

Prospective pupils generally register two to three years before entry to Westminster and around 40 per cent of pupils join the School from Westminster Under School.

In the term before entry, candidates take the Common Entrance or The Challenge (Westminster scholarship examination) to ensure the required standard is met.

Scholarships and bursaries

A few scholarships and means-tested bursaries are available including the Queen’s Scholarship and Music Scholarship.

School fees

Please refer to the latest list of fees.

There are three terms per academic year.
