Westminster School is a busy and vibrant place to work. There is a real sense of community here as, being a boarding school, many members of staff and pupils live on site and the School’s premises are very much treated as a home away from home. Support staff as much as teaching staff are encouraged to embrace the School’s day-to-day activities, whether that be attending an evening concert or a morning service in the Abbey.
The Estates Department is responsible for the maintenance of over 100 properties across both Westminster Under School and Westminster School, including listed and ancient buildings, classroom blocks in office conversions, boarding houses, offices, a music centre, a theatre, many private residences occupied by teaching staff and a large sports centre and sports field in the heart of Westminster. The Schools are currently undergoing a period of expansion, moving towards full co-education across every year group by 2030 and including introducing a new pre-prep for girls and boys at 4+ at the Under School, for which the Estates Team will play a key role.
