18 November 2022

Westminster’s huge diversity, in all its forms, has been celebrated at the 2022 One World Week.

The week of events, cultural clothing and shared culinary experiences in November marked one of the most popular and important dates in the Westminster calendar and gave the school community a fantastic educational and social opportunity to better understand those around them, through the appreciation of one another’s cultural heritage and traditions.

To begin this year’s festival, Remove pupils gave an address in Abbey, in which they celebrated the community’s shared values of inclusivity and respect. Pupils then swapped their school uniform to showcase their own vibrant cultural clothing, and to conclude the week, a variety of pupil-led food stalls offered up a gastronomical journey to those eager to sample new foods.

One World Week organiser and committee lead, Charlie (Remove, BB) said: “One World Week this year has gathered a lot of momentum and the cultural food stalls definitely reflected this. With the stalls run by different societies and pupils alike being under the onslaught of a bustling crowd eager for samosas, dumplings, or even deep-fried mars bars, it is fair to say that it has been a great success!”
