Pilates

Pilates is a powerful yet low-impact form of exercise created by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, originally designed to support dancers recovering from injury. This conditioning practice builds strength, flexibility, and endurance by initiating every movement from the body’s centre. Rather than focusing on bulking up muscles, Pilates enhances muscle tone and control – delivering strength in a smarter, more balanced way.

Open to Upper School pupils (Years 12 and 13) every Thursday in our dedicated physical-wellness studio, Pilates Station is predominantly mat-based, with simple props cleverly introduced to challenge and awaken muscles.

Pilates will leave you feeling taller, stronger… and mildly betrayed by your abs!
