336 Year 11 and 13 pupils collected more than 2,000 grades on the results days in August, again reflecting strong outcomes from a broad curriculum.
A Levels
On A Level results day 207 Westminsters gained 801 grades, the vast majority taking four full A Levels, as remains the norm at Westminster, reflecting our commitment to academic breadth, intellectual challenge and preparation for highly competitive degree courses.
Between them, pupils studied 22 academic disciplines, from mathematics (181 pupils, with 89 also taking further maths) to Mandarin, taken by two pupils.
Seven of the 22 subjects studied were languages, both ancient and modern, with 28 pupils taking French and four studying Classical Greek.
Across all examinations:
- 58% of grades were A*
- 88% were A*/A
- 99% were A*-B
96 (46%) of pupils achieved at least three A* grades, while 53 (26%) received only A* grades.
So where next?
For most, to Russell Group universities across the UK. 169 of our 207 leavers will take up places at one of 15 Russell Group institutions, notably:

30 will head across the Pond, to schools including seven of the eight Ivy League (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, UPenn, Yale), Stanford, Chicago and Duke.
The courses are numerous and varied (with many making good use of all those maths A Levels): economics (33), sciences (29), engineering (18), maths (14), modern foreign languages (13), law (11), medicine or dentistry (11), English (8), history (8), computer science (6), classics (5).
GCSEs
GCSEs remains a big and broad challenge for our 15- and 16-year olds, with ten or 11 subjects taken by all; each pupil showing great dedication and the capacity to soak up, process and draw interesting conclusions from vast amounts of information.
129 pupils were awarded 1,222 grades covering 24 different subjects: from the ‘core’ taken by almost all pupils (two Englishes, maths, French, and the three sciences), to the more specialist disciplines, the most niche of all being Japanese, with two students.
200 grades were awarded in seven modern languages; 130 in the three big humanities (geography, history, RS); 92 in the technical disciplines of computer science, electronics and 3D design; 56 in the arts (art, drama, music); and 38 in the classics (Latin and Classical Greek).
Across all examinations:
- 75% of grades were 9
- 91% were 9/8
- 97% were 9-7
27 pupils achieved straight 9 grades, with more than half earning all 9/8 grades.
