Reading is at the heart of everything we do at Westminster Under School. Our two Libraries encourage pupils to explore widely, think curiously and develop a lifelong love of reading.
Our main Library, located on the first floor of Chapter House, is a vibrant and welcoming space, with a variety of comfortable reading nooks used by pupils during lessons, as well as at break and lunchtimes. Everything in the Library is carefully chosen to foster a lifelong love of reading and a curiosity about the wider world, with Mrs Fella, the Librarian, always on hand to support pupils and recommend books to suit their interests.
Across the Under School, pupils can choose from a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, including books, magazines and journals, spanning different authors, genres and periods. The English Department works closely with the Library through initiatives such as Book Club sessions, in which all pupils participate, encouraging a strong interest in wider reading. In partnership with other Departments across the School, the Library also supports pupils in reading widely across all the subjects they study.
Our other Library in Adrian House serves Junior School pupils from Reception to Year 4. It offers a rich and carefully curated collection of picture books, chapter books and non-fiction titles, reflecting the range and depth of reading across the School.
